Banes is a city and one of the 14 municipalities that comprise the province of Holguin in Cuba, occupying its northern end. On the south it borders the municipality of Antilla and Mayarí on the west with the municipality of Rafael Freyre y Báguanos. The waters of the Atlantic Ocean bathe to the north and east.
